Places is an intimate look behind the curtain at a NYC based dance company (ALMA NYC), reemerging after a global pandemic paused the world. Featuring moving interviews from the company dancers and their personal stories, a behind the scenes look at both the virtual creative process and the company's first in person rehearsal, and importantly conversation with industry activists in regards to coming back in a more inclusive and equitable way for all. The piece also features site specific performances around the city of New York by the company members, and athletic emotive choreography by Zanza Steinberg.
With a tenacious all female team at the helm, ALMA NYC looks optimistically towards the future of the company as the world reopens and the company reunites after 16 months.
